For busy family.
A private AI assistant for the whole family
An AI assistant for every member of the family. Adults get their own private spaces and a shared memory for family life. Children get a supervised agent with content guardrails. Runs in your home — on a mini-PC, or even just a Raspberry Pi.
No cloud account. No subscription feeding your conversations to someone else’s servers. Your home, your data, your rules.
Built for households, not for one person in a cloud
Today’s AI assistants are built for one person, locked inside someone else’s cloud. A household doesn’t work that way — some things are private, some things are shared, and some people need looking after.
Everyone gets their own space
Each family member has their own account, their own assistant, their own conversations and memory. Yours is yours.
Some things belong to everyone
A shared family memory — the shopping list, the Wi-Fi password, "what was the name of that plumber?" — plus shared folders, with per-person read or read-write access.
Privacy between adults is real
Your personal space is encrypted with your password. Nobody else — not even the family admin who runs the box — can read it through normal use of the system.
Kids deserve an assistant parents can trust
Assistants for children with a simpler interface, carefully limited capabilities, and parents in the loop. Not surveillance by stealth — the child knows the rules.
An AI companion for kids that parents can actually trust
This is our north star. Kids get a warm companion that listens, helps with homework without doing it for them, and sparks creativity — inside boundaries you set.

Transparency, not stealth
The child knows the rule: "what you tell me stays between us, unless I’m worried you might get hurt — then I tell someone who loves you." Hidden surveillance is wrong and counterproductive.
A safety net with a high bar
Alerts reach a parent only for real concerns — carrying concern and urgency, not transcripts. A bad day gets support, not a report.
Parents stay in the loop
You are the data controller: supervised accounts have restricted tools, no actions toward the outside world, and activity readable by you.
It grows with them
As they grow, the account grows: more autonomy, eventually a private encrypted space of their own. From protected child to independent teen.
Up and running in three steps
Install it on your box
One command on a mini-PC, NAS or Raspberry Pi. Docker sandboxes the assistant’s actions; a short wizard creates the family admin account.
Invite the family
Add a provider and model in the Models Hub — cloud or fully local. Then create an account for each family member, with the right role for each.
Everyone meets their assistant
Each person chats with their own assistant, connects their email and calendar if they want, and shares what belongs to everyone in the family memory.
A team of specialists, not just one chatbot
Behind your assistant there’s a circle of dedicated agents. Delegate a job — research, planning, writing, a ruthless business critique — and they report back.

Main Assistant
Your general-purpose assistant — helps with any task and remembers what matters in memory.

Companion
A warm companion for children — listens, helps with homework, sparks creativity, and adapts to each child.

Project Coordinator
A conversational coordinator that holds the full context of one project — software or otherwise — does the everyday planning and writing, and delegates specialised work to sub-agents.

Researcher
Does multi-step web research and gives you back a structured summary, saving its sources to the scratchpad.

Business Analyst
Acts as a ruthless startup advisor: takes your business idea plus the market data you have, finds every flaw, and tells you whether it is worth pursuing.

Spec Writer
Turns a rough idea into a detailed, unambiguous written spec — research and documentation only, no code.

TIC
Background watcher that periodically reviews incoming email, WhatsApp, and calendar events and pings you when something matters.
We don’t say "impossible". We say precise.
Privacy products love the word "impossible". We prefer to tell you exactly what is protected, how, and where the limits are.
Encrypted personal space
Each adult’s database is encrypted at rest (SQLCipher), unlocked by a key derived from their password (Argon2id, memory-hard). A rebooted machine seals everyone’s space again until they sign in.
An honest threat model
We defend against the tempted admin — the family member who owns the box and might be tempted to peek. We do not claim to stop a forensic attacker who owns the hardware. No honest software can.
Notes are private; files are files
Your notes, chats and memories are the private part. Documents and photos live on the shared box in the clear, like files on any family computer — isolated from other members, not from whoever runs the machine.
Open and verifiable
Everything is open source, so the promise is checkable — and a tampered build would leave traces. Transparent, verifiable privacy, never "mathematically impossible".
You choose where thinking happens
Every conversation can go where you decide — per agent, switchable on the fly.
Local
Fully local models via Ollama or LM Studio. Conversations literally never leave the house — a technical guarantee, not a policy one.
Zero-retention cloud
Cloud providers routed with data_collection: deny — they declare they don’t retain or train on your data. Trust-based, fail-closed by default.
Open cloud
OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek and more. The best quality and price, for conversations that aren’t sensitive. Your call, always explicit.
The chat is the home page
Your home, your data, your rules.
Skald Circle is open source and actively developed. Try it on that spare mini-PC — and come tell us how it goes.
